For our first experience at this restaurant, it was absolutely amazing! Andi was our server and she killed it all night from start to finish. She was extremely busy but was so attentive, so helpful with dinner and drink recommendations, and just overall so sweet. The food was delicious (I had the seafood mixed grill) and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice dinner out!

A very nice experience. Karen, our server was exceptional. She took excellent care of us, was very friendly & even personalized a take home box of my prime rib scraps for our dog Daisy. The only reason for 4 stars & not 5 on the food was that my baked potato was crunchy mid way through & the medium rare prime rib was a tad medium. Otherwise a great place to dine.

J. Gilbert's has been my favorite restaurant for years because of it's consistenly delicious food, amazing service and cozy atmosphere. Its the perfect spot for a special occasion, a date, or just a nice dinner. Start with the Maytag Bleu potato chips, crab cakes or one of their house salads, you can't go wrong. The steaks are cooked and seasoned to perfection, the prime rib is mouthwatering, and the lump crab cakes are as good as in any restaurant on the shore. There is nothing on their menu that isn't perfection. I went tonight for my birthday and it was a another great experience. The food was top-notch, and our server Mike K. made the experience even better by providing excellent service. My opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Kansas City. Try it and see, you won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend, we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, the waiter was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional. The food is top tier, steak was extremely tender, the salmon was the best I’ve ever eaten and that’s not an understatement. I give them a 10/10 very very good! Mike was our servers name, highly recommend him as well.

“Five-Star Flavors, Friendly Faces” We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at J. Gilbert’s! From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was amazing. We started with the Rockefeller oysters and beef carpaccio with truffle oil — truly next level. For the main course, we had the barbecue ribs and a prime rib, both incredibly tender and delicious. Of course, we will definitely come back and highly recommend this place! Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert, but we want to give a special shout-out to our server, Meili — such a kind, friendly person, always smiling with an excellent attitude and top-notch service. Thank you, Meili! We will definitely return.

Highly recommend this top level restaurant with an amazing menu! Must try: the crab cakes and smoked old fashion (with Angel's Envy)! Excellent cuts of beef, seafood tower, and creative desserts. The fixed 3 course email is wonderful - providing many choice options. However, you may still wish to peek at full dessert menu to at least observe everything that is possible! 24 layer chocolate cake AND Chocolate peanit butter pie AND Blondie Apple pie? The creme brulee is great too. Yes to all of the above bring a large enough party, share and try them all! Saint John, our waiter, was as memorable as the fine meal itself! Want an opinion on the menu? Or even a little spontaneous Opera? Saint John has all the excellent advice and high entrainment value for your party!
